LISC Milwaukee honored Olga Village Apartments as a finalist for the State Farm Insurance Building Blocks Award at the 12th Annual Milwaukee Awards for Neighborhood Development and Innovation (MANDI), held at Milwaukee's Pfister Hotel on March 30, 2011. The award category recognizes real estate projects that contribute significantly to the enhancement of the community. Olga Village opened in November, 2010 and was developed by the Housing Authority and the United Community Center (UCC) on the UCC’s south side campus. The building features 37 environmentally sustainable apartments for low-income seniors, and residents have access to the wide range of services at the UCC.
